Long before it was finally revealed that the greatest bastard who ever lived, Jon Snow, was actually secretly a Targaryen all along, season five's "Kill the Boy" episode provided audiences with a wonderful but easily missed clue at what was to come.

With Maester Aemon, a Targaryen himself, talking with fellow member of the Night's Watch Samwell Tarly about what Daenerys had been getting up to at Slaver's Bay, a masterful piece of foreshadowing is casually dropped into the conversation.

Aemon clearly feels guilt about not being able to help a member of his legendary house. It's here when he then notes how "a Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing."

And you'll never guess who wanders into the room one second after that all-important line?

That's right, Jon (or should that be Aegon?) suddenly appears over the shoulder of his pal Sam, subtly highlighting another Targaryen "alone in the world" a couple of seasons before that massive reveal arrived on screens for the first time and ultimately changed Westeros forever.
