10 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

When the first season of Ryan Murphy's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest prequel series Ratched aired, most of the world was trapped in lockdown during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. That's right, this thing debuted four years ago, but its fate was only revealed by Paulson this past February. 

Following Murphy muse Sarah Paulson as the infamous Nurse Ratched before she terrorised Jack Nicholson, the series told a story about human nature as only Murphy ever could, full of unsettling imagery, hopelessness, and compelling performances from a packed ensemble cast. 

And despite the fact Ratched was well received, and Murphy has long had a knack for keeping his shows alive, a second season just... never happened. There were no announcements about a renewal or cancellation, it simply lay forgotten for a few years whilst Murphy moved on to other things.

There's no more waiting around for this one, though it is a wonder why. Technically, as of this writing, there hasn't been an official announcement of its death; we only have the long wait and Paulson's word. Very strange, indeed.
