10 More TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled
3. Naomi
Naomi was a superhero TV show adapted from the 2019 DC Comics series of the same name, and with the backing of Oscar-nominated director Ava DuVernay, seemingly had a solid shot at success.
The series debuted to strong reviews, with particular praise for Kaci Walfall's performance as the title character, though Naomi struggled to find an audience, debuting to barely 800,000 viewers and achieving scarcely half that number by the end of its first season.
There were external aggravating factors, however, namely random pauses in episodes being aired - in one instance due to the Beijing Olympics - that totalled six weeks of delays in the end. This obviously does nothing to keep momentum, in turn losing any audience it previously built.
And so, just two days after Naomi wrapped up its first season, The CW confirmed it wouldn't be returning.
As with Legacies, Naomi was just another underperforming title to get the axe before The CW's big sale.
