10 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2017

4. The Terror (AMC)

The Terror
AMC

This one is special, as the adaption of the Dan Simmons novel was commissioned by AMC in 2013, before the network declined the pilot last year. The network announced, however, that they would indeed be moving forward with the series in March. It’s rare for a show to be given a second chance on the same network that turned it down, so perhaps AMC saw some untapped potential in the adaption.

The novel is a fictionalized retelling of Captain Sir John Franklin's HMS Erebus and HMS Terror expedition, where a predator stalks the stranded crew in the frozen Northwest Passage. The novel was a bestseller and previous works by AMC (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead) prove that their shows often reach global success.

Here’s hoping that The Terror will be another stellar production by this great network.

I like to think of myself as a world traveler and social butterfly, although I do spend a lot of my time watching the latest Japanese anime series, sitcoms, movies, and drama series. I live on the island of Crete, where I was born, and enjoy walking on the beach with my little cocker spaniel, Molly, when I'm not writing for WhatCulture.com and UNILAD.co.uk.
