Undoubtedly the most badass character on the show, Carol turned from a victim in the first few seasons, to a cold-blooded killer.

Currently one of two remaining characters from the first season (the other being Daryl Dixon), Carol was such an unassuming presence at first. Being the abused wife of Ed, and losing her daughter in Season 2, no-one really could have predicted how she's turn out.

She began to kick off her ruthless role by burning the diseased Karen and David, and though it's uncertain if they were alive when this happened, it was for the benefit of the group overall, though it did cause her to be banished temporarily to prevent friction with Tyreese. She also killed Lizzie (which we all agree had to be done), managed to disguise herself and defeat most of the Wolves, and freed a captive Negan so he could kill Alpha.

But by far, her crowning achievement is how she came to the group's rescue by destroying Terminus on her own, and how Rick and Daryl react to this afterwards is honestly heart-warming.

The last few seasons have explored her psychology after repeatedly losing children in her care, and even in these hallucinations, she is still a brutal force.
