There are few characters who the audience want to see killed as much as Zeke Yeager. People want to see this guy destroyed and they want it yesterday. Truth be told, no one can really blame them.

Zeke is an Eldian, the race of humans capable of transforming into giant monsters called Titans. Because of their defeat in a great war, they now live under the thumb of their conquerors, the Marleyans. The latter also happen to be manipulating the most powerful among the Titans to not only expand their empire but also target the last remaining Eldian free society on the island of Paradis.

Despite being treated as a second-class citizen throughout his childhood, he chose to side with his oppressors. What’s more, he did so by ratting out his parents who were organizing a resistance against all the atrocities.

The guy was so drunk on government propaganda, he willingly send his mother and father to their death sentences. Then he went on to become a key player in the government forces upon inheriting one of the 9 most powerful Titans, the Beast Titan.

As the story progresses, he displays more and more ruthlessness toward his kind. Refusing to see anything other than government doctrine, he won’t hear anything other than how Eldians are demons and how the only way to save his people back home from this hellish life is by winning the mercy of the Marleyan overlords. And the only way he is going to do that is by wiping out Paradis, no matter how much of his race gets slaughtered in the process.
