8. Barry Is Savitar
Flash Season Three is a mixed bag, isn’t it? It’s definitely the darkest the series has been up to date, and a big part of that is because of Savitar.
The God of Speed’s goal throughout the series was to kill Iris in order to break Barry Allen. This would cause an endless cause and effect cycle that would lead to Barry becoming Savitar.
Savitar gave a few hints as to who he was throughout the season, but very few people could have predicted it would be Barry. After all, why would Barry want to kill Iris? Iris has been the love of Barry’s life for nearly twenty years, it makes zero sense.
The major clue that’s given is when Barry goes to the future and speaks to his future self, who reveals that he created time remnants. Eventually, Savitar killed all but one of them.
The remaining time remnant felt shunned by everyone, and was driven to the point of going back in time, killing the original Savitar, and taking his identity. If you weren’t great at picking up clues, the moment when Barry stepped out of the Savitar suit was incredibly shocking.
