10 Most Pitiful TV Plot Twists Ever Created

Friends is one of those rare TV shows that made it to 10 seasons and still managed to stay funny. The characters were just as adorable as they were in season one, and the storylines were just as interesting, emotional and hilarious.

Sure, when you watch it back (especially the earlier seasons) it can look a little dated, not to mention problematic. But Friends was a landmark in television sitcoms and is still as popular today as it was then.

However, as the old saying goes, nothing is perfect. Yes, the worst plot twist in sitcom history has to be the forced relationship between Rachel and Joey. For some reason, the writers decided that because Monica and Chandler got together, maybe Rachel and Joey should get together too.

The relationship didn't work for a number of reasons. 1, because nobody wanted it, including the actors, 2, because their backstory just didn't allow it, and 3, because they had zero chemistry.

In fact, the whole thing soured the final season of the legendary television show and ruined the wonderful onscreen friendship of besties, Joey Tribiani and Rachel Green.
