10 Most Powerful Anime Characters Of All Time

4. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Death Note
Funimation

Of course the big three are gonna be on this list. Sure you might be surprised by our #1 entry, but not putting Luffy on this list would feel needlessly contrarian for the sake of seeming cool, and that's never been my game.

Besides, you gotta admit, the kid makes a good case for himself. Barring the obvious examples of him being able to tear apart buildings the way a normal man crushes a saltine cracker underfoot, the anime and manga really takes advantage of the fact that its main character is made of rubber. Not only making him one of anime's most expressive protagonists, but also basically making him bullet proof.

Punching and shooting Luffy only works with either constant powerful attacks (rubber does have an upper limit to how much punishment it can take after all) or VERY specific weapons and abilities. Bullets bounce right off of his skin and normal punches are shock absorbed. Before, the only surefire way to hurt him was by cutting him, but now with armament haki, he can make his body as hard as steel. And if he really needs to take you down, he can alter his body with his "gear" modes to give himself extra power in specific ways.

It's safe to say that Luffy has found every way to use his powers to his advantage, to get him out of every kind of tough scrape imaginable. If you stand between this rubbernecked dunderhead and the One Piece, take my advice.

Run.
