10 Most Quotable British TV Shows

9. Little Britian

Peep Show
BBC

Created by Matt Lucas and David Walliams, Little Britain is just one of the shows that everyone in the UK seems to have seen snippets of at least once, whether you like it or not. Running for four series with a whole load of comic relief specials, this sketch show was full of memorable characters with their own gags and one-liners for people to repeat to their friends. "Computer says no" used to be a favourite around my house, and Vicky Pollard's "am I bovvered?" frequented the school playground back in the day.

The series takes aim at an assortment of stereotypes from British culture which quickly cemented it in the minds of the general public when it first aired, with characters such as the aforementioned Pollard quickly becoming household names. While there has been a lot of discussion in recent years regarding if the show crossed the line with its humour, it's hard to deny the impact it had on early 2000s UK culture.

Also worth mentioning is Come Fly With Me, a similar show from the same creators where all the sketches were set in London Stansted Airport and revolved around crew members and passengers. While not as popular as Little Britain, you'll still hear the odd quote or two from it every so often.
