10 Most Quotable British TV Shows
2. Peep Show
Peep Show is arguably one of the greatest British comedy sitcoms to grace our TV screens in past two decades. Double act David Mitchell and Robert Webb play Mark and Jeremy respectively, in a show that sees the two stumble one from life failure to another. The show is unique in the way it's filmed, with everything being a POV shot from someone in the show. It is honestly great for accompanying the awkward humour.
Lasting nine seasons, Peep Show does a fantastic job of always being able to make both Mark and Jeremy stoop lower and lower in their lives. The two are joined by an exceptional supporting cast, including fan favourites such as Super Hans, Johnson and Big Suze. It almost seems like anything that comes out of Super Hans mouth could be stuck on a t-shirt and sold as merchandise. One you always see circulating from Hans is "people like Coldplay and voting for the Nazis - you can't trust people Jeremy." It's a solid point.
The real question is who do you find yourself quoting most? Is it Mark, with his self-deprecating and hopeless thoughts? Or is it Jeremy with his terrible justifications for his actions and questionable life advice? In life, you're either a Mark or a Jez.
