All of those worries were gone after the final minutes of the second season premiere. Although this scene was directly from the comic, it was still very shocking to see the entire event unfold on TV. While in the woods, Rick, Shane, and Carl come across a wild deer. In a very silent, but touching moment Rick allows Carl to go over and try to pet the deer. When all of a sudden a shot goes off and Carl gets blown back. The deer was shot and the bullet went straight through and hit Carl in the stomach. There were only seven episodes of the series at this point, and this was the most shocking of moments.
