10 Most Underrated Buffy The Vampier Slayer Episodes
6. A New Man
Often criminally dismissed by fans, "A New Man" is Buffy at its most fun, comical, affecting and light. Giles finds himself out of the loop with the gang; he doesn't know about Riley and the Initiative, and he is generally a bit down about his role in the group now that high school is over and he's no longer an official Watcher.
After getting drunk with old friend turned mortal enemy Ethan Rayne, Giles wakes with a bad hangover and a bad case of having turned into a demon. Seeking Spike's help to find answers as Buffy and the gang hunt him - unaware of who he really is - Giles races against time to fix his problem and not get in anyone's way.
Yes, it's silly in most parts, and Giles and Spike make for a brilliant odd couple, but the ending, where Buffy can tell the demon is Giles by looking into his eyes, is quite sweet. It's an episode designed to remind the audience of just how important Giles is to Buffy and the gang, and he will always in someway be needed.
