10 Most Underrated Sitcoms Of The Past Decade
9. The Odd Couple (CBS, 2015 - 2017)
Neil Simon's classic play has spawned a range of interpretations over the years, including the classic sitcom starring Jack Klugman and Tony Randall which was rebooted in the 1980's. So like Denzel Washington making a western movie, Matthew Perry rebooted a remake.
In his second entry on this list, Matthew Perry teamed up with Thomas Lennon to redo The Odd Couple. Naturally, Thomas Lennon played the clean, uptight Felix Unger to Matthew Perry's filthy and disgusting Oscar Madison. Just like Go On, Perry's character is a sports talk radio personality. Maybe that's the career Matthew Perry has secretly wanted this entire time.
Yvette Nichole Brown steps up their comedy game even further as Ryan's assistant turned producer, Danielle Duncan. She adds an important commentary on everything happening in the duo's apartment. Brown made a name for herself on Community, another entry on this list.
What sets The Odd Couple apart from the rest of Perry's post-Friends career is that this series actually got more than one season in. That's in no small part due to the chemistry between Perry and Lennon as well as the high quality of the source material.
