7. Trophy Wife (ABC, 2013 - 2014)

ABC truly has affinity for good shows with bad names that drag them down. Trophy Wife is the first of two shows on this list that have that problem.

Kate is a young, beautiful party girl who suddenly finds herself married to a middle aged lawyer named Pete. What Kate quickly finds out is that Pete has two ex wives and three kids, some of which are more tolerant of her than others. She tries to build a life for herself in this new world by building bridges between everyone already living in it.

Malin Akerman plays Kate perfectly by bringing compassion and intelligence to a ridiculous role. The title unfortunately weighs the series down by diminishing the quality of the show and Akerman's performance. If it had a better title, it most likely would have gotten more than one season.
