10 Must-See New TV Shows Starting In February 2022
2. Super Pumped
Following in the recent wake of many excellent series based on real events, Showtime’s Super Pumped has the makings of a show with real pedigree, mass appeal, and the ability to educate as well as entertain. This one stars Joseph Gordon Levitt as Uber founder Travis Kalanick, and based on the trailer as well as the network’s usual MO, it looks like high octane stuff.
The show will chart Kalanick’s rise and fall (such as it was - he remains an immensely rich man), from a man with revolutionary ideas about urban travel to his eventual ousting in the wake of a reported toxic corporate climate and less than stringent safety measures for his customers.
Alongside Gordon Levitt is the ever-welcome Kyle Chandler as former director Bill Hurley, and in a real coup, Uma Thurman as Arianna Huffington. The series begins at the end of the month and has similar zeitgeist potential as Hulu’s highly successful Dopesick - a story we’re all sort of familiar with, given its due spotlight.
The intention is for the series to continue in an anthology format, examining other important technologies of our day.
