Netflix has created another youth-centred show to join their repertoire of strong titles including Sex Education and Sabrina (the less said about 13 Reasons Why the better).

It skirts a fairly unoriginal premise, a graphic novel adaptation centred on high school kids developing supernatural powers. Yet judging from the source material, this will be more Freaks and Geeks than X-Men.

The talent involved and the approach are reasons to get excited. Promising actress Sophie Ellis takes the lead, the talented Johnathan Entwistle (The End of the F***ing World) is show-running, and the Stanger Things producing team are overseeing.
