10 Notable Names With At Least One Recurring TV Voice Role

5. Ron Perlman

Good lord, that voice. Are we sure Ron Perlman wasn't a Bond villain in a past life?

Incidentally, Perlman's most celebrated roles seem to revel in their shades of grey. Whether as the half-demon Hellboy, the duplicitous Clay Morrow on Sons of Anarchy or, in the case of this entry, Teen Titans' arch-nemesis Slade, his depictions always leave you wondering where he stands. Slade is unique in this regard, as we later find in spite of his unquestionably diabolical agenda, his allegiance lies not with the virtuous or the treacherous, but exclusively to himself.

Over the course of 17 episodes, Perlman's spine-tingling portrayal had viewers hanging on every word. The velvet vocals were so smooth as he carried out his chameleonic agenda. Between torturing current and prospective Titans into unwilling apprenticeships, playing psychological chess with Scott Menville's Robin up to and including Season Four, or literally assisting in bringing Hell on Earth before his departure, Slade had everyone convinced that he was the big bad for the duration of the series. Save for a brief alliance to take down his co-conspirator in world domination, maybe he was.

The one certainty is that casting choices don't get much better.
