6. EV Suits In The Original Series
In The Original Series episode The Naked Time, the Enterprise was faced with a ship-wide pandemic of a virus that caused the crew to lose their inhibitions and behave as if they were drunk. Spock and an unnamed redshirt have to dress up in EV (environmental) suits to protect themselves from the effects of the virus while they struggle to investigate it.
Unfortunately, someone in the prop department must have been suffering from drunken-virus because they decided it would be a good idea to create the EV suits out of bright red shower curtains with golden decorative patterns. Needless to say, these suits were unconvincing and frankly ridiculous.
Luckily, the EV suits on the show were replaced with a new design after this episode. The newer ones were still slightly goofy looking, with a shiny silver fabric and a giant, blocky helmet, but at least they don't look like they came from your grandma's bathroom.
