10 Other Outrageously Well-Dressed TV Shows (That Aren't Mad Men)

3. Gossip Girl - Eric Daman

Gossipgirl Like "Sex and the City" before it, "Gossip Girl" was a show about New York, love, and clothes. Lots and lots of clothes. It should come as no surprise that the man who assisted the legendary Patricia Field on the SATC costume design (and won an Emmy for it) is also the guy responsible for all six seasons' worth of "Gossip Girl"'s abundance of fashion. "Gossip Girl" put on a fashion show every single week, from prep school students to sophisticated (and often unruly) socialites. While the plots were messy and the characters often unsavory, the clothing was always and unfailingly a delight. All around me I saw how the show influenced stores like Forever 21 and H&M, and I "fell" for it all too - the sequins, the hair scarves and bands, mixing prints (polka and paisley, why not??), and of course the classic looks that I can't afford (Dior, Chanel,etc.). I love how it made it mainstream to try and go a little crazy in your everyday look, which to me signals individuality, something sorely missing in ready to wear fashion. And lastly, a mention to the men's wear, which was so vibrant and sexy - a white suit with a tuxedo black stripe along the side? Yes please!

Born in Israel, but raised partly in the UK, Shira is rather an odd duck. She will get in your face with her opinion, but will then be super polite to the waitress serving her a cocktail, no matter how bad the service is. Movies are her passion, along with good TV, music, and Shakespeare. She loves to sing and goes to karaoke a lot, too. She will do anything creative, and will resort to finger painting if necessary. Shira also, apparently, enjoys writing about herself in third person, which is weird. But she just finished her first Fantasy novel, and it's not about her, so that's ok. Shira is very glad to be a part of WhatCulture!
