10 Pretty Pretty Pretty Good Curb Your Enthusiasm Guest Stars

4. Ricky Gervais

Larry David, Jon Hamm
HBO

Poor Ricky. Created The Office but in the US everyone seems to think Steve Carell did. In any case, the actor appears to have settled well there when we seem him guest-star on Curb in Season 8, during Larry’s brief tenure as a New Yorker.

Like most of the people on this list, his relationship with Larry is not exactly that of a bromance as it begins by Larry accidentally buying him a $300 bottle of wine, something Larry instantly regrets and holds over his head…

But things go from bad to worse when Larry is sat far away from his date at Jeff and Suzie’s dinner party the next day. And guess who ‘randomly’ gets sat next to his date: yup, Ricky.

As if Larry didn’t despise him already for ‘stealing money’ from him, now he’s stealing his woman. He sets out for revenge: During a play that Gervais is starring in a few days later, Larry doesn’t stop yapping all the way through, throwing Ricky’s concentration out the window and ruining his performance.

But at the end of the episode, Larry shows us how much of a grown-up he really is when it comes to burying the hatchet, as he becomes Ricky’s hero, attacking his mugger with a hard-as-rock baguette. Interestingly, this guest star has actually made him look like a good person for once!
