10 Reasons Batman Animated Is The Definitive Dark Knight
7. The Cast Of Characters
One of the animated series' biggest merits was its large cast, all carefully chosen to tell the best of tales the writers had to offer. Everyone from silver age greats such as Clock King to modern marvels like R'as Al Ghul found a place on the show, with a total of over 50 notable characters making an appearance in one way or another. The long running series had a fine supporting cast, and Batman's adversaries were as charming as they were ruthless. The heavy hitters such as Two Face and Penguin enjoyed multiple appearances in many episodes, but smaller, lesser known characters often made a huge impact when appearing in but a mere one or two episodes too. The show had enough diversity to ensure that every fan's favourite villain and ally got their chance in the spotlight, and created a formula that would work well not just for Batman, but for the rest of the DC Animated Universe as well.
