10 Reasons Better Call Saul Is Better Than The Walking Dead
6. It Feels More Realistic
Obviously, this is a contentious point to make when you are comparing a show set in 'the real world' to one set in a zombie apocalypse. But even taking that into account, 'Better Call Saul' just feels more realistic. It gives you insights into the daily trials and tribulations of some ordinary and not so ordinary people. You see a gritty criminal underworld and a shiny corporate elite, with Jimmy treading a fine line somewhere in between the two.
You don't necessarily know how you would act if you were Jimmy or Kim, but when you see how they do respond to a given situation, it usually seems natural and believable. You don't feel the need to write angry letters to the writers telling them how crap they are.
Who knows how humanity would act after a zombie outbreak, but when death lurks around every corner, it is likely that people will have better things to do than stand around and listen to protracted and empty speeches on a weekly basis; especially when these are often made by a man who has been a pretty bad leader as of late. Scores of people have died as a result of Rick's poor planning and rash actions, and yet people continue to blindly follow him; getting their heads caved in by a barbed-wire wrapped baseball bat for their troubles. Moreover, petrol should be non-existent by now, and bullets should be pretty finite too, especially if you consider how many they wasted on 'target practice' in the second series.
Little, nonsensical things like this can become frustrating to watch, taking you out of the moment and reducing the enjoyment one can take from an episode.
