3. He Knows When to Quit
Ricky Gervais isn't the kind of fella who will snap the reins on a galloping project, digging in his spurs, and running it full out until it finally falls dead beneath him. He knows when a story is done. He knows how to leave an audience wanting more. Both The Office and Extras ran for just two series, plus a couple Christmas specials. That's it. Done. No more. He didn't wait until the people were done with his shows (kind of like the U.S. Office is doing€), but rather ended the story on his terms and created a cult following in the process.
