3. He Knows When to Quit

Ricky Gervais isn't the kind of fella who will snap the reins on a galloping project, digging in his spurs, and running it full out until it finally falls dead beneath him. He knows when a story is done. He knows how to leave an audience wanting more. Both The Office and Extras ran for just two series, plus a couple Christmas specials. That's it. Done. No more. He didn't wait until the people were done with his shows (kind of like the U.S. Office is doing), but rather ended the story on his terms and created a cult following in the process.
