8. It Predicted The Future

In many ways, Batman Beyond was ahead of its time and in many ways sort of predicted the future. Not everything on the show ended up happening but enough of it did to raise a few eyebrows. This cartoon somehow foresaw these advancements in technology as an inevitability with our information-driven society.

Artificial Intelligence, gene splicing, and VR simulators are all becoming part of our modern lives. These advances in technology were seen heavily throughout the Neo-Gotham that the series took place in.

The show also did a great job of depicting societies addiction to technology and is full of foreboding messages about the dangers of what could happen if the world relies too heavily on these conventions. Whether its the kids becoming addicted to Splicing animal DNA or if its Terry McGinnis relying too heavily on the powers of his new Batsuit, Beyond definitely made the case that not every development will make life easier.

All of these instances highlight the value of human interaction and instinct over technology. It's a valuable message for a time where individuals have their lives stolen online, get hacked, or even died looking at their phones while driving.
