1. Miranda Herself
As I'm sure many writers and comedians now, most of our best humor comes from ourselves and our own lives. Miranda (the show) is no exception, as it proudly bares the description, "semi-autobiographical" of the British comedian, Miranda Hart. Her willingness to open up with situations that come up in her own life (and I'm sure the lives of many others) makes the show that much more genuine, relatable, and over all funny. It also speaks very highly of her- to be able to laugh at yourself is a true talent, and the jokes that are made at the expense of her height or her attitude, instead of being insulting, are fodder for many genius responses from Miranda's character. Characters on the show often acknowledge her height and size and ask why she doesn't go to the gym or diet, and her responses are always smart. Plus, that lets her character later make jokes about their lifestyle choices, for instance when Tilly runs by with her running group, Miranda shouts after them "What are you running from?!" Miranda's performances are always impressive and have generated innumerable laughs, and that's just in my apartment. As a writer, actress, producer, Miranda has a lot of power with this show, and she has absolutely used it very wisely and created a funny, relatable show that should be enjoyed by all (which probably explains why she's nominated for a BAFTA!)
