1. Patience is a Virtue... And It Gets Rewarded
In just under two full seasons on the air, Once has proven itself a master of the slow-burn model of mythology-based storytelling. By its very nature, the show demands engagement from its audience, and spools out character and story arcs that never conclude quite the way you expect them to. One of the shows own adages (slightly adjusted) can be used to describe the impact of the storytelling: Every story comes with a price. Whether that story happens in the past in the fairy-tale realm, or in our worlds Storybrooke, Maine, each of them matters, and each of them solves and creates new mysteries in equal measure.
