2. It's Culturally Relevant And Modern

Animated series' that like to pick at the zeitgeist can be a tricky, given production lead times. Look at Family Guy, in which some of its gags can derive from memes of the moment almost a year before an episode airs.

But for Harley Quinn, the show implements the mood of the 21st Century, as opposed to what's popular. The series bases a huge part of its premise on not only Harley Quinn's emancipation from the Joker's notoriety, but also the in-world (and real world) struggles of women making it on their own and the trials and tribulations that come with this.

Without getting too deep or spoiling what the series entails; the relationships Harley has with other super-villains can not only be funny but speak to the current state of affairs where because she is a woman, she has to constantly prove she's on par with the likes or the Riddler or Bane.

This is a show about Harley Quinn navigating a world of social media and how the entertainment-consuming public could perceive her, and while it's still a cartoon, there are vague similarities in her endeavours to the real world.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
