10 Reasons You Should Watch Castlevania Season 4

9. The Twists

There's a surprising number of twists in the writing that fortunately don't exist just for the sake of a twist, a trap that many other, bigger series have fallen into. It'll be hard to talk around these twists without spoiling the content, but there are enough of them that even if you expect one or two, you can't possible expect them all.

Some twists are small, unexpected but not too game-changing, not distracting from the main plot in any way. For a few, expectations are set up early on that something's about to happen, but holds on to exactly what until the very end.

The bigger twists, especially the ones nearer to the climax, are mind-blowing and memorable. They're fan pleasing in more ways than one, with the final twist of the entire series blowing expectations out of the water not because of the plot itself, but because of what many come to expect from a "dark" or "adult" series supposedly being depressing and tragic.

Even with the darker twists that precede it, it's safe to say that the biggest twist of Castlevania is to see happiness where we expected "blood and death". You got us, Castlevania.
