10 Sci-Fi TV Shows That Wasted Incredible Characters

3. Wally West - The Flash

Fans of The Flash will know Wally West as the third iteration of the famous speedster, as well as the nephew of the second Flash, Barry Allen.

Reimagined as Iris' brother, Wally West made his debut in the CW's Arrowverse in season two of The Flash.

As he was such a high-profile character in the comics (as well as Barry's successor), hopes were high for Keiynan Lonsdale's version of West, and the actor didn't disappoint. It's a shame, then, that the show's writers did.

After a small amount of screen time, Wally became Kid Flash during season 3, then was quietly written out of the show.

The character was subsequently moved over to sister show Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular before again being barely used.

It's not just the infrequent nature of his appearances, though, but the way he is depicted that's a waste. Despite his clear ability as a hero, Wally is pushed aside time and again by Barry, love interest Jesse, and just about everyone else imaginable.
