10 Scrapped Friends Storylines That Would Have Changed The Show Forever
9. Moving To Minnesota
Over the course of the ten seasons, viewers connected with more than just the characters on screen. They enjoyed seeing the familiar apartments and hanging out in Central Perk.
Therefore, it may come as a surprise to learn that the producers considered moving the gang to Minnesota.
As revealed in Saul Austerlitz’s book, ‘Generation Friend’, the show’s creators planned to shock the audience by moving them away from New York. The story would have seen Chandler get relocated to Minnesota for his work and the rest of the gang decide to follow him.
This would have apparently seen an episode where the guys try to find a new coffee house to socialise in, as well as re-shooting the iconic opening credits to show them in their new location.
This would surely have been jarring for the loyal audience who had become connected to the familiar setting of the show. Thank God it didn’t happen.
