Microchip Lieberman, usually known as Micro, started as an ally of Frank Castle, The Punisher.

Micro was a legendary computer hacker who retired after coming too close to organized crime. His nephew, trying to follow in his footsteps, stole data from crime lord The Kingpin, who had him killed. It was while Punisher was investigating this murder that Micro began working with him.

Microchip helped Frank with acquiring weapons, technology, and intelligence, built safehouses for Frank, handled finances, and provided invaluable mission assistance.

Over the course of a decade of Frank's work, Micro feels more and more that Frank has gone over the edge away from his original mission and eventually turns on him, working with some of the very gangsters Frank has sworn to destroy.

This leads to final showdown between two, including a gun battle and arrival of SHIELD, resulting in Micro's death.

Fifteen years later, after a series of events that include Micro being brought back to life and killing a SHIELD agent, Frank has ANOTHER final showdown with Micro, this time slashing his throat.
