Youd be surprised he worked on: Kolchak: The Night Stalker The irony of David Chase, the man who arguably changed the landscape of television and paved the road to some of our best shows today, is he hated television. He wasn't a fan of watching or writing television, but it paid the bills. Chase wanted to make films. So when he had the chance to be the showrunner of an HBO show he ran with the idea of taking a cinematic approach to television and thus the birth of the golden age.
