The water tower is one of the most infamous locations in the fictional setting of Point Place, Wisconsin. It's where Eric asked Donna to marry him. It's also the spot where Fez committed an act of vandalism that nearly got him deported. More importantly, it's the source of That '70s Show's best running gag as many of the characters have fallen off of it.

But only one of them has died.

The character Charlie Richardson was brought in at the end of season seven to replace the departing Eric Forman, who decided to go to Africa. In the first episode of season eight, it was revealed that Charlie had fallen off the water tower and died, leading to the tower being named after him. Hyde, Fez, Forman and Kelso had all previously fallen off it, sustaining only minor injuries.
