If you're going to take over the world, you're going to need some serious firepower.

Or an oyster farm, as Pinky proved earlier.

This is literally what Fire Lord Ozai gets in the series finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The tyrannical leader of the Fire Nation (voiced by Mark Hamill, of all people) times his assault on the Earth Kingdom with a very special cosmic event.

As Team Avatar discovers earlier in the series, Ozai is awaiting the return of Sozin's Comet, which enhances the ability of all firebenders. The demented leader wants to harness the comet's power to raze the world to the ground and rebuild it in his image.

Waiting for a celestial vessel that gives you superpowers and that only you know about is pretty smart. If those pesky teens hadn't also discovered the comet's existence, then Ozai would have surely been successful.

Those meddling kids. Wait, that's a different show.

In the end, Ozai does fail and even has his bending taken away from him by Aang. Still, he was really close, and we should all praise him for that.

Just try and ignore all the death and destruction he brought upon the world.
