When it comes to actors working in heavy makeup and elaborate prosthetics, Doug Jones is top tier. Due to his towering height, gaunt appearance, and double-jointed legs, this trained contortionist has made a living playing Mermen, fauns, ghosts, and aliens in films like Pan's Labyrinth, Crimson Peak, and The Shape of Water.

Despite earning over 150 acting credits, most people don't have a clue what Jones looks like, even if they're familiar with his work. Despite having major roles in properties like Star Trek and Hellboy, it's hard to recognise him since he rarely plays a character that shows his true face. In fact, it's hard to think of a time where he played an actual human!

So when he appeared in Season 6 of Sons as a police officer called Crane, even the biggest fans of Jones didn't bat an eyelid. He only appears in the episode, The Mad King, and doesn't do much so it's easy to miss him.

Of course, this isn't the first time Jones has worked with Ron Perlman - who plays Clay - with Perlman and Jones having worked together on the original Hellboy movies.
