One of Star Trek's most interesting and enigmatic characters comes in the form of Odo - and I use the word "form" loosely, for in reality he is just a pile of translucent yellow goo.

René Auberjonois plays the no-nonsense chief of security aboard Deep Space Nine, who works to keep the station's inhabitants out of trouble while simultaneously trying to unravel the mystery of his existence. He often butts heads with the crafty Ferengi bartender, Quark, whose underhand schemes and general debauchery cause him no end of grief.

This relationship is parodied in the Family Guy TV film, Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, with a cutaway featuring Auberjonois' Odo alongside 'Quark Griffin', Stewie's 'cousin'. While Quark Griffin is chiefly just a vessel for Stewie's personality, Odo's portrayal is more faithful to Deep Space Nine, spouting warnings to Quark in a similar fashion to the series.

It's a classic Family Guy technique: substituting its own characters and humour into a pre-existing work to see how they react in that setting. When Odo threatens to morph into a python and eat him, Quark Griffin nonchalantly replies, "Hey, here's an idea: why don't you morph into a guy with something interesting to talk about?"
