10 Star Trek Characters Who Have Appeared In The Most Shows
9. Jean-Luc Picard - 3
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Star Trek: Picard
The discerning gentleman's choice of Starfleet Captain, Jean-Luc Picard was a world away from the audaciously rough and tumble Kirk who had preceded him, and presented a much more reserved and cerebral take on the role of Captain.
Expert in diplomacy and fiercely devoted to the ethics of The Federation, Picard was the lynchpin upon which the entire run of The Next Generation would hang, and his stalwart determination saw the crew through seven seasons, and four movies, of adventures before drawing to a close.
Picard's central role as Locutus of Borg and the ensuing Battle of Wolf 359 would be pivotal to the development of DS9's Benjamin Sisko, who lost his wife in the conflict. A tense meeting between the two leaders in DS9's pilot would form a sort of passing of the torch between the two shows, and laid the groundwork for Star Trek once again breaking the mould with their commanding officers.
Following years of inaction, Picard would set off to strange new worlds once again in his eponymous show, again presenting him as a paragon of ethical duty as he cuts ties with Starfleet to take on the nefarious Tal Shiar of Romulus.
With Picard Season 2 already upon us, the Star Trek icon is still delighting fans to this day, and it remains to be seen just how far he will boldly go in future.
