Imagine a history channel style of show, almost like a documentary, exploring the history and backstory of different aspects of the Star Wars universe. It could utilise the plethora of canon knowledge, alongside creative and vibrant CGI displays, to really breakdown a variety of Star Wars places and societies and offer a Star Wars experience we have never seen before.
One episode could run through the history of Mos Eisley, another, the beginning of bounty hunting. Instalments could even fill in gaps of knowledge created by the films, such as the origins and purpose of the Knights of Ren.
A show like this would be an amazing way to appease fans who are seeking that extra bit of geeky knowledge, and it would also give writers an amazing amount of room to play with, both in terms of which stories they tell and how they tell them. It could be serious, playful, entirely neutral and educational, or dark and deliberately unnerving.
Ultimately, the show would really expand the world of Star Wars, both in terms of what we know about the fictional universe, and what we can see of it, and that is great for everyone!
