10 Stephen King Stories That Need To Become TV Shows
2. The Talisman / Black House
In Jack Sawyer, King along with his fellow writer pal, Peter Straub (of Ghost Story fame), have created a truly enduring character. So much, even, that he takes centre stage not just in their towering 1984 joint effort, The Talisman, but also as a troubled adult in 2011's Black House. Like Jack, the setting of these two novels is pretty staggering, flitting between everyday America and the fantasy realm of the Territories. With the only slight stumbling block being only having two stories to work with - the first book sees Jack palling up with wolves and gunslingers on a quest to save his mother from cancer, while the sequel sees him tracking down a serial killer - there is always the option of TV execs bringing King on board to dole out some story treatments for some new adventures. With Game Of Thrones providing the bonking and bloodlust in the fantasy genre, the adventures of Jack Sawyer could be an imaginative escape from all the scowling and warring we're becoming accustomed to.
