1. Ash Turns To Stone
Without a shadow of a doubt, this was the single saddest moment in my childhood and made every child watching the film in the cinemas break down and try to hide their tears. For any person from the 90's who hasn't watched Pokemon: The First Movie, I feel sorry for you because this mean that your childhood was never complete as it was a film no person will ever forget one watched. The whole film dark from the outset, with Mewtwo murdering a flock of scientists, then we learn of how all he wants is answers and turns out to be a character you actually empathise for. The heroes find themselves surfing to Mew Two Island, as they believe they are going to battle in a competition, but it was actually Mewtwo's devised plan to capture these trainers and Pokemon and teach them a lesson. Ultimately, it leads to Mew and Mewtwo facing off, but then Ash as per usual sticks his beak in and gets turned into to stone as of his interference. It was genuinely the saddest thing for any child to see and it was even harder to bear when all the Pokemon start crying also, but this scene alone is the one thing I remember most about my childhood, another not so good memory in relation to Pokemon was losing my Game Boy Colour with Pokemon Yellow alongside and having caught over 130 out of the 151, it was hard to take.
