4. Riverdale
Riverdale is another of the gritty dark reboots of a popular comic series that have come out in recent time, and while the series has been getting more and more critically analyzed with every season, the very first season is perhaps the best for its setting and tone and some of the sexiest teenagers I think have ever been shown on screen, including Archie.
The show is perhaps too focused on the drama and less on the teenagers in the show as each character is sexy and filled with a dark secret. Whether it's murder, adultery, or even stripping at the local biker gang bar the cast of the classic comic book is taken to some dark places over the show's five-season plus long run, and yet for the most part it only makes the show more fun to watch.
The characters are well written and fun to root for, the story can be good at times or bad at times, but that's just the gamble with a super popular tv show, and overall its the purest teen drama show to come out in recent memory with a twist in every episode and more drama than an hour of reality tv.
