10 The Simpsons Characters Who Were KILLED OFF!
3. Frank Grimes
Despite his many, many shortcomings, Homer always seems to find forgiveness from the people of Springfield, and it's really hard to find anybody that doesn't like him. Enter Frank Grimes.
Frank Grimes, or Grimey as he is known much to his displeasure, was the complete antithesis of Homer J. Whereas Homer has always been displayed as a bumbling oaf, Grimey was a hard working, sensible, self-made man whose utter contempt for his co-worker Homer would lead him to declare the two of them enemies.
Despite his best efforts to stay away from the Nuclear Power Plant's resident safety inspector, Frank Grimes is slowly driven mad by his incompetent colleague causing him to snap and begin to mockingly act like Homer around the workplace. This leads to a rather ill-advised attempt to grab hold of some high-voltage cables without any safety equipment, frying him to death in the process.
Frank Grimes would appear as a ghost in a non-canon "Treehouse of Horror" episode, and would be referenced many times throughout the years. His son, Frank Grimes Jr. would also make an appearance during season 14 and attempts to murder Homer, but is foiled in his plot by none other than Sideshow Bob.
