10 Things About Game Of Thrones That Make No Sense

6. Who Was Quaithe?

From being sold into slavery by her brother, to ultimately achieving her goal of taking the Iron Thrones of Westeros, Daenerys had quite a journey throughout Game of Thrones. After departing Pentos, her path drifted further east rather than west, to the mysterious land of Qarth.

Here, one of the most mysterious characters in the show appeared. Quaithe, a woman who covered her face with a unique gold mask, appeared in just two episodes, leaving a lasting impression after correctly predicting Dany losing her dragons, and Jorah’s trouble passing the ashes of Valyria.

It seemed at the time that Quaithe had a big part to play in Daenerys’ future, particularly as the character has a much bigger role in the books, with fan theories going even so far as suggesting she was Dany herself from the future. We would never actually get our answer though.

After season two, the character is never seen or even heard about again, begging the questions who was she, where did she come from, and how could she possibly predict the future? This was something that the showrunners never saw fit to explain, so why include her in the show at all?
