10 Things You Didn't Know About Captain Scarlet

1. Donald Gray Was White, Black, And Mysterious

Talented voice actor Donald Gray was white and black and a little bit mysterious. That is to say, he voiced Colonel White, Captain Black AND the Mysterons! For Colonel White, the puppet sculptors used the actors likeness, and this resemblance was retained for the CGI version of Colonel White in 2005. Donald Gray's real name was Elred Owermann Tidbury, and he also appeared in Dixon of Dock Green and Emmerdale Farm. He sounded like the archetypal Englishman, but Gray was actually South African. Sadly, Gray passed away in 1978.
