10 Things You Didn't Know About Homer Simpson

6. Famous People Homer Has Met

If you've ever played the game Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, you know that he can be linked to almost anyone in Hollywood through his many movie appearances. If you were to play a Six Degrees of Homer Simpson game, it would be incredibly easy to do and probably require fewer degrees. Including The Simpsons Movie, 639 guest actors have appeared over the course of the Simpsons run, ranging from the most famous of the megastars (Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson, Meryl Streep, Mel Gibson, Paul Newman, Britney Spears, U2, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber) to the ultra-obscure (the Dapper Dans as the singing voices of Homer's Barbershop Quartet, Kimmy Robertson €“ the sheriff's receptionist on Twin Peaks €“ and professional ice skater Elvis Stojko). Homer Simpson knows the creme de la creme of rock royalty. He's met the Who (before John Entwhistle's death), the Beatles (before George Harrison's death), and The Rolling Stones, as well as alternative rock groups ranging from Coldplay and The White Stripes to Sonic Youth and Cypress Hill. He's also met stars from every professional sport, including Marc McGwire, Ken Griffey Jr. and Daryl Strawberry (baseball), Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, Magic Johnson and Dennis Rodman (basketball), Tom Kite and Tiger Woods (golf), Brett Hart (wrestling), Eli and Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Joe Namath, Troy Aikman and Dan Marino (American football), Andre Agassi and Venus and Serena Williams (tennis), Tony Hawk (skateboarding), Michelle Kwan (ice skating), Oscar De La Hoya (boxing), Lance Armstrong (cycling), and Jeff Gordon (NASCAR racing). Is there anyone Homer hasn't met yet? The series shows no signs of ending, so there's plenty of time for Homer to fill in any gaps he might have left on his bucket list.

Hi there, What Culture-ers! I'm William Graff, a 40-year old freelance writer from the wilds of Capitol Hill in beautiful Denver, Colorado. I enjoy many things such as beer, Doctor Who, The Simpsons, record collecting, stand-up comedy, long aimless walks, and of course the Broncos, which is required by law if you live here. I appreciate all feedback for my writing, but I prefer cash and/or deleted Smiths singles in lieu of praise. Rock on!
