10. She Was Up For The Role Of Sabrina

Before accepting her seminal role of Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar was also up for the part of Sabrina Spellman in Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The role would ultimately go to Melissa Joan Hart (an actress who is almost exactly one year older than Gellar) and it's not that Gellar lost out to Hart, it's simply down to the fact that she wanted the role of Buffy more and opted out of the running for Sabrina. Moreover, in 2006, when a theatrical Sabrina movie was set to be produced, Gellar was even eyed-up for the role of the teenager then - when she was approaching thirty years of age. The movie didn't end up happening, but any version of Sabrina would have been very different with Gellar in the role.
