10 Things Disney+ NEEDS To Do With The Marvel Netflix Characters
8. Let Steven DeKnight Do The New Daredevil Show
Daredevil, despite a slightly lackluster second season, still stands tall as the absolute pinnacle of the Netflix MCU shows, and to some, even the peak of the MCU itself. Now, there are TONS of writers, editors, directors, and actors who made all that happen, and we don't wish to discount their contributions, but this show was able to reach the heights that it did because it had Steven DeKnight as its showrunner.
DeKnight's intense writing, deep knowledge of his characters, and love of noir crime fiction made Daredevil a standout property in the MCU. Striking that perfect balance between being a good adaptation of the source material and being its own thing. I mean, its biggest inspirations are Dog Day Afternoon and The French Connection.
Marvel's TV shows outside of Netflix have not been the best, and that's me being VERY kind to shows like Avengers Assemble and the current Spider-Man cartoon. Hopefully Disney+'s Marvel lineup will change that, and a very good place to start would be to greenlight a Daredevil show and put DeKnight back in charge.
Obviously changes would be made (the violence would have to be taken down a notch in brutality for one), but DeKnight has been proven to be the best showrunner for this character.
