10 Things Disney+ NEEDS To Do With The Marvel Netflix Characters

6. Ditch The Hand

The handling of, well, The Hand, in the Marvel Netflix shows is a great demonstration of why the rest of the MCU works so cohesively: the creative teams of each property keep in constant contact. Not so for the team who put together The Defenders and the other Netflix shows it was spinning off of.

The three Marvel Netflix shows that used The Hand, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and The Defenders, had ZERO communication and note sharing. So everyone was making sh*t up as they went along, inevitably contradicting each other. But even beyond that, The Hand just isn't that interesting a villain organization. They were never intended to be, after all, since their creator - Frank Miller - always kept them off in the background or to the side of the stories they were involved in, but never the main focus.

The Defenders have plenty of villains to choose from, so ditching The Hand is not that big a loss. After all, if having Sigourney Weaver as your main villain can't make the bad guys of your story more interesting, it's probably best to scrap the entire thing.
