10 Things The Simpsons Taught You Better Than Your Parents
9. Family First
Some families do learn this lesson; some moms and dads stress it. However, no family stresses it like The Simpsons (well, maybe the Bundys, but they're not quite the same type of family). If there's one thing The Simpsons do, in the end, it's stick together. Whether it's supporting Bart down in Australia when he's due for a booting in Bart Vs. Australia or supporting Homer in a sexual harassment case in Homer Badman - they may have their faith tested, but they always stick together. This becomes even more poignant with Homer's mom, Mona, who is on the run from the law, turns up later in the series. Okay, so being on the run and "abandoning" her son doesn't seem like "family first" at first glance, but it turns out her son is never far from her heart, and Homer is loyal to her as well.
